support@scanforrescue.comFour areas in our research & development phase. Exploring new ways to locate, recognise and reconnect pets with their people.
Researching a compact, low-power tag for nearby finding, with wider-area discovery through a compatible device network being evaluated.
We’re aiming for 12 months of battery life. Actual performance will depend on usage and testing; this is a development target, not a confirmed specification. Bluetooth relies on nearby compatible devices, not continuous live GPS tracking. Network access and size still need validation.
Developing the direction for a dedicated GPS tracker that sends location updates over a mobile network, so owners could follow their pet’s movement on a map.
Target capabilities under research. Requires a powered GPS device, satellite reception, mobile coverage and a data service. Update frequency, charging needs and service pricing are not yet confirmed.
A missing or stolen dog may no longer have its collar or tags, and a microchip may not be available to identify it. Our goal is to compare a clear nose photo with a previously enrolled nose pattern—another possible way to recognise the dog.
In R&D: requires prior enrolment and a sufficiently detailed nose image, not just any photo. Accuracy, consent and secure storage need validation. A potential match would need verification; it is not proof of ownership or a replacement for microchipping.
Create a full-body visual record before a dog goes missing. We’re researching whether a 360° scan could help compare later sighting photos with its shape, coat and markings—even when a collar, tag or usable microchip is no longer available.
In R&D: photo-to-profile matching is not yet validated. Viewpoint, lighting, grooming and changes in appearance can affect comparisons. Potential matches would need verification; this is not automatic location tracking or proof of ownership.
Not available today or included in the monthly or lifetime plans. No release dates, final specifications or pricing are confirmed. Today’s QR service offers finder-shared location, not live device tracking.
